“In most cases, we have limited the mission of the anointing to only spiritual and physical manifestations. However, it is important to be informed about the social relevance of the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ, under the anointing, did not only heal the sick and cast out devils, He also provided bread, and ‘buttered’ it with fish. He was never a beggar, but a unique distributor.
He was also socially comfortable. He would always lodge in the large upper room; ride in a special boat - ‘asleep on a pillow’, where you cannot feel the billows; and was always moving in a convoy - ‘and other little ships with him’.
His ministry was so socially relevant that they came to take Him by force to make Him a king, but He fled.
Among the effects of the anointing, as contained in Isaiah 61, is the building of the old wastes, the raising up of the former desolation, and the repairing of the waste cities and the desolations of many generations.”
