"Guns of the Lincoln County War" is a reference work that needed to be written! The bookshelves are flooded with volumes about Billy the Kid and the Lincoln County War, but this book is a unique look at conflict from a perspective that has, up till now, been completely ignored. Beginning with the Horrell War in 1873 and continuing through Billy the Kid's death at the hands of Pat Garrett on 14 July 1881 the author describes, in detail and photograph, the actual firearms that were available to the combatants during the period. The book is easy to understand and follow for those unfamiliar with firearms, but yet thorough and descriptive enough to capture the interest of those who are. Cliff has really knocked the cover off the ball with this one!
